Local food, live music, Q&A with authors, mini workshops, raffle and lots of VONA love

VONA has provided over 2,000 developing writers of color from all over the world a place where they can explore their craft, exchange ideas and build a writing community.  VONA nurtures the unheard, often marginalized voices of writers of color. VONA promotes accessible arts education and enhanced literacy for communities of color.

Some of our distinguished faculty include: Elmaz Abinader, Chris Abani, Suheir Hammad, Ruth Forman, Cristina Garcia, Chitra Divakaruni, Tananarive Due, Justin Chin, Walter Mosley, Willie Perdomo, Patricia Smith, Junot Diaz, Stacyann Chin, Nikky Finney, Jimmy Santiago Baca, Martin Espada, Danzy Senna, Tayari Jones, Saul Williams and many more.

As the only multigenre workshop for writers of color in the nation we hope to continue our impactful work. In becoming a 501c3 we aspire to reach greater impact and resource development with your support of our fundraiser. For more information on VONA please visit:
